The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland
The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland is an organization whose mission is to help low-income individuals with legal services and advocate for the change of various policies. They strive to secure justice, equity, and access to opportunity for those who have low incomes. The Legal Aid Society advises and represents older adults in all legal matters related to healthcare benefits, property title, survivorship deeds, advanced directives, and other forms of wealth preservation. They work hard to support vulnerable communities in Northeast Ohio that are being affected by these legal issues. The Legal Aid Society received a grant from The McGregor Foundation in support of legal services for older adults.
Using online portals, medical legal partnerships, and holding advice clinics throughout spaces in local communities, The Legal Aid Society is able to locate the older adults that would benefit from the services they can provide. They hold about 90 advice clinics each year that give older adults and people within the community the opportunity to ask questions and learn new information. They take pride in not only one-on-one representation of their clients, but also focusing on larger systematic issues surrounding older adults and legal policies.
The Legal Aid Society has helped thousands of older adults over the years with legal services and is continuously committed to serving them wherever they may need support.
