We believe that older adults should have access to the essential resources for older adults needed to live safely and independently, with the ability to make meaningful choices about their lives.
This pillar focuses on the systems and services that address the foundational needs of seniors, particularly those facing economic insecurity, health disparities, or barriers to access. McGregor supports efforts that strengthen stability and remove obstacles that prevent older adults from thriving. We also support partners working to improve policies, funding, and systems that strengthen services for older adults.
Funding priorities include initiatives that address:
food security and nutrition (please note, we currently do not fund individual food pantries)
safe, stable, and affordable housing (please note, we currently do not fund senior home repair)
healthcare access and care coordination
transportation and mobility
benefits access and financial stability
in-home supports and caregiver services
digital access and technology inclusion
We prioritize equitable solutions that reach seniors who are disproportionately impacted by poverty, disability, social isolation, race-based inequities, or geographic barriers.
